Crafting an Irresistible Brand on Social Media: Tips for Luxury Wedding Vendors

Welcome back to the blog! This space is for luxury wedding vendors to get advice, inspiration, and ideas for social media. Are you a luxury wedding venue? Dress designer? Wedding planner? Photographer? Videographer? Florist? Or are you something else? Either way, this is the best place to find ideas for what to post on social media! These tips will increase engagement, build trust with your audience, and grow your reach!

So today I’m sharing the best ways to grow trust with your audience: showing your face on social media. I know it's tempting for luxury wedding vendors to remain faceless under the guise of “professionalism.” But social media is quite literally my job, and I have seen how showing up online can transform a business! This blog post is all about why you need to show your face on social media. And I'll tell you how to do it without sacrificing your professionalism!

Building Connections and Boosting Sales: Showing Your Face is A Social Media Strategy

Now more than ever, brides are using social media to find vendors for their weddings. 1 Clients are making snap judgments based on your profile. This is why it is so important to make sure your social media profile stands out! The best way to make sure your profile is individual and memorable is by showing up on it.

By showing your face on social media, you instantly become more relatable.2 As a luxury wedding vendor, you are not only selling a service. You are selling an experience. In fact, you're selling your experience. You will be intimately involved in the most important day of your client's lives! Couples want to know who they’ll be working with, and they need to trust you.

When you show your face, it is ten times easier for your audience to trust you. They know who they’re talking to and more importantly, who they’re giving their money to. Put yourself in their shoes! Would you be willing to shell out $100,000 to $500,000 for a luxury wedding to someone you had never met? I wouldn’t. By showing your face on your social media, you make it easier for clients to reach out and start the booking process. They feel like they know you before you even get on a consultation call!

If you aren’t convinced yet, don’t worry, I have a bunch more reasons why you need to show your face online.

All brides want to work with someone they vibe with - but this is especially true for luxury brides. These couples want to work with vendors who understand their vision. Showing your face lets you tell your story. And trust me, your story is your most powerful marketing tool!

Your story is your why. It’s why you started a luxury wedding business. It's why you get up in the morning. It's why you connect with the most incredible wedding couples. And it's why you’ll make your next client’s wedding as perfect as the last. Your story connects you to your ideal client - and it weeds out the clients you don’t want to work with. By showing your face, you allow your audience to choose you! When you don’t show your face, your audience will never know if they like you or want to work with you.

Captivate your Audience: How to Show Your Face on Social Media

Professional Branding Photos Are Your Friend

Now that you understand why it’s so important to show your face, I’m going to include three great ways for you to do this. I promise you can still be personable while maintaining your professionalism! The best way to do this is by investing in branding photos.

Whether you’re a one-person show or have a whole team, you need professional photos to show who you are! Branding photos are a great way to show your professionalism and authority while still being relatable. Reach out to a branding photographer to capture some headshots of you and your team. But beyond those, get some action shots! If you’re a florist, take photos of you working on a bridal bouquet. If you’re a photographer, have your camera with you and show what it looks like while you’re working. Professional photos show that you are an authority and expert at what you do.

I recommend using a colorful, high-resolution photo of your face as your profile picture. Then, pin an introduction post about you and your team on your profile! This way, potential clients can learn about who you are without digging through your feed.

Post Daily Stories

My favorite way to show my face on social media is by recording stories a few times a week. I love to record myself speaking about a new social media update, or important news that will impact my clients. Make sure you’re using a high-quality camera with a clean lens (your iPhone or Android camera is fine!). Sit somewhere with good lighting and record at a flattering angle.

Stories are a great way to connect with your audience! You can talk about recent events, tag your clients and fellow vendors, and share things you love about your business. As a luxury wedding vendor, you can always talk about the hottest celebrity wedding trend and share inspiration.

But stories are also a great place to share more of your personality! What sets your wedding business apart from all the others? Is it the incredible energy you bring to each event? Is it your eye for detail? Maybe you can stay calm through the crazy, last-minute changes. Or the fact that you’ve been in the wedding industry for 20+ years! Highlight the things that set you apart. Talk directly to your ideal client about the things that matter most to you as a wedding vendor.

Record Behind-the-Scenes

I know wedding days are hectic, but take a few moments to record yourself during the event. If you decorate luxury weddings, set your phone on a nearby table and record a timelapse of setting up a table display! If you’re a DJ, take a second to record the dancing crowd when the beat drops. There are so many ways to record the little details that elevate an everyday wedding to a luxury event.

Be intentional about recording behind-the-scenes content while you’re on the job. Later, you can put some music behind that video, include a few words about what you were doing, and post it. Showing yourself doing the work - and doing it well - increases your authority and sets you apart as an expert!

It Gets Easier With Practice

If you’ve never been in front of the camera before, it can feel daunting and awkward. Don’t be afraid to practice! I have clients who used to despise filming themselves. Now, they show up on their stories every day and love it. They even host Instagram Lives with other wedding industry experts! They formed these connections because they started showing up, showing their face, and finding the people they vibed with. So yes, it might feel awkward at first. But if I can do it, I know you can too!
